You will be picked by a guide from Legacy Expeditions Tours and Travel at your hotel, airport or ferry in Dar for the safari briefing. Then you'll drive south to Selous Game Reserve (Nyerere Np) which is approximately 4 hours drive from Dar es Salaam. On arrival, you will get lunch and start with an afternoon boat safari in the Rufiji River. Dinner and your overnight stay will be Lodge on a full board basis.

After early breakfast depart for full day game drive in the Selous Game Reserve exploring the game in the surrounding areas. You may expect to see any of the major African great favorite mammals, including Elephant, Giraffes, Lions, Buffalo, Zebra and even the rare African Wild Dog. Picnic lunch shall be provided in the mid-day and afternoon return to the lodge and the rest of the evening will be spent at your own leisure. Dinner and overnight at Lodge/ Camp.

Early morning walking safari into the Nyerere National Park, usually start at 6-6.30am after early morning tea or coffee, accompanied by an armed ranger and it will take around 2-3 hours long. Walking safari is a fantastic way to experience more about the Selous Bushes. Although you may see wildlife during the walk, the focus is also on the habitat that the animals live in, insects, trees and birdlife. You will have an interesting and amazing experience to walk within such a vast area of the natural reserve – an experience which very few places in Africa are able to offer. After breakfast, drive back to Dar es Salaam with packed lunch boxes. On arrival in Dar es Salaam, you are dropped off at the airport for your flight back home or at your hotel /ferry to Zanzibar, Mafia Island.
